The Official Locknewbie21 Pickset Thread

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Datagram's set is Next, this one I did with blue on black handel's. The dark contrast of the blue really made the polish job in the tang's pop.

Also it's been forever and a day since I posted a 5x shot. I always use jewler's scopes to inspect my work, if there's a flaw... these will show it.

2nd from the left is bangin' in the butt of the blade. I love that undercut. And I know this is getting seedy and esoteric of me, but it's just so pretty, I want it on all my precision picks. *drool*

Sorry for the double post, but please let the record show that I did not mean to describe your picks as "bangin' in the butt..."

Just got em in the mail, excellent job as usual locknewbie! I've already flown through some of my new euro cylinders with them, the offset hook and the new snake hook (haha I don't know if there's an official name yet, but tell me that's not an awesome name for it :p ) have been invaluable for some of the deeper cylinders.

I'll be passing around the hook with the new design to some of the local pickers here and will hopefully have a consensus posted for everyone soon enough. Thanks again LN21!

Neat! Are the top two mine or do I have both tan on black?

I actually just got a bit of my raking mojo back tonight. Haven't been able to rake anything for two weeks. I'm still not actually sure what angles and tension it was that I was getting wrong.

Hopefully with the weather starting to turn I haven't made a big mistake with my new hobby. I'm not sure I need something and frustrating as golf for the winter months. Oh well, I've gone pretty OCD on locks and I don't think there's any turning back.

How do you feel about your new hook designs? Has it really been coming along?
