No, the author wanted to show them where he/she wanted and if he/she removes them, he/she doesn't want to share them anymore. That is why you are not allowed to repost other peoples work without their permission.

And you know this by how? There can be watermarks or information in EXIF data or the copyright is mentioned on the page where you downloaded the original picture.
And besides, every country has different laws. For example here in Finland any picture or text is copyrighted automatically without any (C) marks or mentioning of copyright. And I believe there is other countries like this too.

Nobody is afraid, it is just that you don't own those images or any permission from the makers to redistribute them. And to add, you are not even giving credit where credit is due.
