Raking VS. Scrubbing

Again I searched and found nothing on Scrubbing.

I read the MIT guide and have done a lot of research and I keep seeing the term "scrubbing" come up. As i read it, it pretty much reads the same as the term "raking" are they the same? Or is scrubbing more agressive with more tension? My mind is saying they are the same, but maybe I'm missing something.

Raking - Any random/chaotic movement
Scrubbing - Scraping in an in-out/out-in motion on the tips of the pins
Jiggling - Bouncing in/out motion that aims to simulate many bittings rather than randomly set pins
Rocking - Similar to jiggling but with almost no in/out motion under tension

Other possible terms that no one uses:

Swipe? - A single quick outward/inward scrubbing motion
Rakewalking? - Outward swipes that do not start from the last pin/wafer
Reverse-raking? - Rake after lifting fully and holding tension while lowering the pick

I like this one. I have a kwikset "max" security dead bolt that all it needs is to insert a pick, any pick or rake, all the way to the back and lift the handle once or twice while applying tension. Not really picking of raking but the term rocking works excellent here.

Well sometimes i use this method
(Scrubbing - Scraping in an in-out/out-in motion on the tips of the pins) when i SPP on some american locks
and it works excellent all the time i use this method.

APB's post reminded me of an idea I had to make type of overlifter pick that would be just a straight probe mounted inside a tube like a piece of a bic pen barrel and set up to be swiftly withdrawn by a compressed coil spring when a trigger is pulled,
the idea is to lift all the pins and drop them nearly simultaneously when the coil spring is unleashed on the probe tip. I havent made one yet, but the idea is to have all the pins dropping from the top of the keyway at once while tensioning the lock.
go ahead and make one if you like the idea and the show it here if it works.

Hrm... neat idea! One potential problem, though, is that I'm not sure that gravity would pull the bottom pins down faster than the springs would push the drivers back down? (Or am I misunderstanding how your idea would work? In a sense, you're sort of proposing the reverse of a "bump key", yes?)

I think the idea is for the tip pon to stop on the shear line, like when you over lift with a rake, it deffinatly wont fall faster than the spring could push it.

making this should be easy, I will start looking for parts and see if I can get one built...

I have gotten good results using a rocking/jiggling technique, as opposed to raking/scrubbing which I usually have little luck with (using a snake, this is)
