Need a little help

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Need a little help

Postby juice » 23 Oct 2003 10:33

Well im completely green when it comes to lockpicking but I find it interesting and want to learn a little about it. First of all I read most of the MIT guide, my problem is making some decent tools, if anyone has a guide or anything similar I would definently appreciate any help you could provide for me.

Thanks in advance.

MIT Guide should tell how to make them, and it's the best I have seen on how to make a pick set. Best advice would be to order a set off of www.southord.com Just go cheap, in case you don't like it.

Ok I got myself together and actually got that picked formed out quite nicely from a bicycle spoke, and I read somewhere the blade from a hack saw would do nice as a tension wrench, and I happened to have an old one lying around, but any advice on how to get this thing into the shape I want? Cuz I tried with the same file I used for the pick but im hardly making a scratch!

You will have to heat and bend it in order for it to work.

You might want to try filing it down too
Thanks,

Juice, I would have thought a hacksaw blade would be far to brittle as a tension wrench? I found a small allen key filed down is ideal, and these aint gunna snap easily. (you only need a small amount of torque, but my hacksaw blades are very very brittle - you dont wanna mess your lock up before ya pick it)
