Hotel Safe Combination reset

This is not picking, and not really advanced. I have in my posesion an old Korean(researched the company) Diplomat Brand Hotel Safe. I have the Key for it, Inside the electronic mechnism is a sticker 03 09 04, this leads me to believe this safe is made in 2004. The Electronics have been physically bypassed, they removed what looks like a stopper with wires going to the inside electronics and turned it so it's pointless. I have the key an dcan open the safe, but am interested in how the Keypad works. The inside has an M(memory button) and if you take that box apart it has an on off switch, no clue what that is for. The front keypad is

I have never used a Hotel safe so I have no clue how to set/reset the combination on it. I cannot find any literature on this anywhere. I will bring in my camera tommorow and get pictures to show you that it is indeed my safe I use it for storing office supplies. I took apart the lock today, it was a simple four pin no security lock. Here is the only details I have on it

Brand: Diplomat
Model: CS 001EK (this sticker is on the outside like a model number, may be just a tracking number.

On the back side the memory module has a 210327 sticker, may be a serial number or an electronics part number. It takes 4 doubl A's . The front setup is Key lock, keypad with one green LED above keybad and the four batteries horizontal on the right side. It has a sticker on the corner with a K in what looks like a Circle with a line through it and sais Since 1984 under it. Tested and Approved in Fire Resistance by Industrial Advancement Administration.Korea

I know pictures really make or break the situation I will get some ASAP. Hopefully it's a simple reset like any other Hotel Safe and someone can help me out. Thanks either way.

The hotel guests usually sets their own combination each time they close the safe. With the safe unlocked it's [C] to clear, then you enter your number, followed by [#] to lock the safe. To unlock you just enter your number again.

While I'm not familiar with that particular model, most of the Diplomat hotel safes also have an override code and an audit log... but that's getting a bit beyond what we should probably be discussing in the open forums.

If there's a button inside the door try pressing it, then digit your preferred combination. This was the process to choose your safe combination in a hotel I've been recently.
Maybe you have to press # after choosing the combination as MacGyver101 suggested.

That model might be different, but most of Diplomat's hotel safes take a variable-length combination (4 to 6 digits), so the "#" lets it know when you're done entering digits.

No, it wasn't different. You had to press # at the end.

I agree that while this is something of a grey area, it probably falls under the same category as "lock breakdowns," which are fine even when it's a HS lock. Maybe someone with more knowledge of safes than me can jump in.

Yep, basically the OP is asking for instructions for use, not instructions on opening it. From what I know, talk of HS locks is allowed in the public unless it has to do with picking etc.

Just my thought and if the moderators/admins decide otherwise, I'm not in the position to question that decision and generally speaking: It ain't my problem

Ok so I've tried several combinations of buttons, using 4,5, and 6 digit combinations. I've pushed the M for reseting, I've used C 1234/12345/123456 # and a lot of other combinations of C M # The light will com on when I hit M and stay on until a nother key is pressed. The batteries are new, but there is a chance the electronics are faulty. The diplomat website has no good contact information except a phone number and they are in Korea, no email. I'm not 100% sure on the model all I have is the 001EK and My camera battery was dead so it's charging . I appreciate all the help, I'm going to do a little more research on other Safe companies and see if someone has a similar touch pad and if they have a PDF manual for using the touch pad. Thanks again.

Finally got some down time to upload pics. Sorry took a couple weeks, been busy, here are the pictures of the safe. I realize I don't have a full blown shot of the safe open, don't know why I didn't take one, but I do have one of the key in the keyhole turned, if I need to get one of the safe open to prove it's mine, I will, note the "plunger" is not installed because you need the comb to make it work, and I have no idea how to set the comb. Thank you.
