Idea for tension wrench and pick, seems promising

hey i have an idea to use these things I have found int he kitchen, I do not know what they are called, my friend he says they are shish kabob, but I believe that only shish kabob (or kebob or kebop or whatever still mad about those retards from the other thread ) are made of wooden stick but I am making right now a 3-d representation of the tool. If you want any other angle-of-views of the object just tel me and I will render a new and post it. I'll ahve the pictures very soon, I am almost finished making the model.

I made a set out of the small metal skewers a few weeks back. Seems everything I see recently is a candidate for the grinder.

The feedback from them is pretty poor, and their springiness results in the lower pins jumping the shear line quite a bit. They cold bend fairly well, even the snake came out ok. The length is just right to fit the hand, and the coil at the end gave good contol in rotating the picks. I've been trying to temper them a little, but not much progress. I've been able to stiffen them slightly, but much beyond that and they become brittle. Haven't had any gain in feedback.

The smaller keyways require thinning the sides down. Grinding gets more sping, and pounding gains little.

THOSE ARE THE EXACT THIGNS HAHA, how'd they work for tension wrench?

They seem to be a rather small diameter for tensioning. The ones I pounded flat would still spin in the lock, so unless its a really narrow keyway, I don't think it'll do. Now, they have a larger version of those that are hex shaped. They are much stiffer and larger diameter. Being so similar to an allen wrench, I haven't tried those out. The allen wrench already has the bend. They're are more spingy,so they might help with heavy hands.

If you're looking for pick material as well, try out is the pins to hang window curtains. They are almost exactly the same diameter. They have the same bendability, but give much better feedback. Just be sure to get the long sets with single pins. The make several lengths and some are doubled with loops instead of staight points.
The long straight points are the ones you want. 25 or so in a pack for 1.99. Walmart and such carry them.

now that's where I differ, with them being to small in diameter...they don't ahve company names but mien are to big for the keyway, i was gonna post my 3 renderings (true to size and scale) even though you have posted yours which are smaller versions of mine...mine have to have too big of diameters for tension wrench, in many of my keyways, the normal houshold ones...I tried a lot so far, they have only fit in 3 out fo about 20...there is no walmart where i live so I guess i can't go by these smaller versions theywould make nice picks with that size PHOTOBUCKET.COM WONT SHOW MY PCITURRES!!!!!!RAH!~

Right-click and copy the complete [IMG ] line containing the image name, (space after IMG used for example purposes)
Paste the [IMG ].... into your message.

EG:

thanks madmick i got that its my palette was too big for the server so it just couldnt display them i go the coding, thanks for the advice though. The problem was not with me or the server I ahve found out, with great amounts of help from d_Shane (thanks again) that it is the pallete and my renderer has a strange palette when it renders in 100% quality and with guassing and antialiasing it makes it have some problem with the image itself thansk for all the help now, ill post all my pictures very soon

It's kidn fo foo, I'll work out how to get in my better quailty and (over the time I have had trouble with my pictures) have made a good design for the tension wrench Ill render a version of the wrench soon....oh d_shane how was the feedback on the picks? and are they springy? I figured they would be
