E 40 IFAM

Hi everybody,

I am new in this forum.

I had always been fascinated with locks and few months ago I bought my first picking lock set. I was so exited!!!

So far I had open every lock I had available, my house door, my house back garden door, all my pad locks my letter box y bought new locks to pick them...

I just love the thought of being in a situation in live where someone need to pick the lock as they forgot the keys inside and be there to help them. When I was a child my parents left the house keys inside and they felt very vulnerable, I did not like to see my parents like that :-(

I have a lock E 40 IFAM (Spanish i thik) that I can not open I have been trying for the last 2 weeks but I can't do it.
I never pick a lock with safety pins (this one has safety pins. I think it has 2 security pins (2 & 4 pins))
I had watch many videos about how it works and how to pick safety pins ( I, mushrooms..) do not put to much presure in the tension range, etc, etc.

I have the keys and the lock works perfectly but when i try to pick it I CAN'T PICK IT

Can someone help please.

Thank you very much.

You shouldn't pick locks that are in use. I didn't really understand why people kept saying that on here until I noticed how many threads there were about how to fix a lock that got jammed while picking. Apparently it's pretty easy to damage the lock if you're not careful or inexperienced.

As for the security pins, I haven't dealt with any yet as I'm a beginner too, but there's some good information on it on this site. I can't seem to find what I was going to link to though. There is a search function at the top of the page though, and the stickies in each subforum are a great place to start.
