American Lock Cutaway Question

I just made my first Cutaway and on two pins I can see the shear line, it was accidental that I could. My question is, the botoom holes, for rekeying, how do I stop the pins from falling out in case I spin a complete 180? Or teaching someone and they do? I put some Etape on it for now, I was thinking take the plug out and put some super glue in the holes and run a pen lid in and out ever few seconds to keep the cylindar free from glue, or putting a piece of e tape on the inside then putting the super glue in the holes. I don't have access to any kind of soldering.

I would suggest JB weld and your tape... then remove the tape when it is dry of course

This isn't a problem if you put it in back in the padlock. So I think you should spend the extra time to cut a big hole out the side of the padlock. Then you can have a fully functioning cutaway American padlock.

I would suggest JB weld and your tape...

If soldering's out of the question and the holes will be exposed then I think LocksmithArmy's suggestion is an excellent one. The advantage of JB Weld over superglue is that it can be easily sanded once it's cured: with some fine-grade sandpaper you should be able to keep a nice-looking finish on the "plugs". (And, depending on what you have access to, JB Weld comes in a putty form that you might also find useful: you can look for "JB Stik".)

Farmer, that would be a great idea, but unfortunately I lack the ability at this time to cut away, I guess I could file it, but that would be forever. I just need the plug for now, when I get home and can actually use my dremel(home being Dec/Janish) I will be doing a lot of good things, for now I'm limited to simple hand tools, cheap files and such. And such, not to get off topic Farmer but I acutally grew up in UT, gonna be there for xmas, and moving to Colorado In January when I come home from Kuwait.
