Help Me Identify This Doorknob

I'm looking for an exact replacement, or information for repair parts. This is a Schlage brand lock and has no numbers or markings other than "Made In Taiwan". I bought it at Lowe's about 5-8 years ago, and made the mistake of leaving a rental management company in charge of it. These might be medium or heavy duty commercial knobs... they were not cheap, but they were under $80 each ($59 or $69 probably)... they are probably more expensive now, judging from the quality of the $35 Lowes lock.

Here are the key features:
Inside screws are hidden under plate
Spherical knobs, note the lock side has a little collar at the back of the sphere
Locking mechanism works as a push button or can be turned to "always lock" (key entry does not unlock the mechanism)
Center section nearly fills the door hole
Can be left or right (keyway can be flipped)

I can provide more info if necessary. Again, I'm looking for an exact match or model, then at least I have something to look for if they are discontinued.

Check the face of the latchbolt. That is usually the only place that you can find a name. What you have is an entrance/office function. Can be locked by pushing in the turn knob. Inserting the key and turning it will retract the latch and kick off the turn knob EXCEPT when the turn knob is rotated. Then it will retract the latch only and remain locked. Inside knob is always free. Turning inside knob will pop out the turn button EXCEPT when it is turned. It is not a heavy duty commercial lock. LSDA makes a great medium duty lockset at a very good price.

They don't sell Arrow at Lowes.

It is possible I picked it out of a Best Access (now Stanley Best Access) catalog and had it rekeyed at Lowes... Thinking that far back makes me fuzzy.

Arrow is the standard knob in that style. Its the most copied design out there. If you still have the 2 springs for the latch, you can reassemble it. I did a walkthrough on how to do that a while back. let me see if i can find it.

Would a knock off have a UL rated deadlatch? Assuming of course that it is UL Listed and not just a nice Chinese sticker....

I know this post is very old but I know exactly the brand the OP is talking about. Lowe's sold this a few years back.

It comes keyed with a 6 pin SC key. It's manufactured by TELL Mfg, grade 2 "commercial" ball entry knob. They also sold an accessory latch which was 2-3/8 in case your door was not 2-3/4, the replacement latch was not tell brand. Hope this helps.

Of course it is,
There wasn't anyone else to steal designs from way back then...
Schlage calls their design the Orbit. Now that everyone has stolen it
I usually go with "that round knob"

I actually had a few of the OP's locks from 20+ years ago, they were
marked "Maxi Lock"
