Are lever lock picks useful for US locksmith

I'm getting ready to open a locksmith business, and I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to get some lever lock picks, I'm located in Richmond,VA it has a lot of old historic buildings and homes which makes me suspect lever locks may may come into play.

43 years in the business and I've never really had the need for lever picks. I have always been able to enter the house that had warded/lever locks and disassemble the lock to fit keys. Europe is a different situation, as lever locks are common place there. As for safe deposit locks, most open quite easily by pulling the nosepiece and manipulating the bolt as opposed to picking.

I would invest the money that you would spend for lever picks on something that is more useful.

there are different lever locks and they require variations on the pick. better to wait until it comes up and then you will have some indication of which tool would be useful in your area. Probably there is one that fits the american type of lever locks that were standard stuff in the first half of the 20th century. but if you find telescoping antenna made of stainless, not brass, you have the basic parts for making a tool when the need arises. Some of the best of these telescoping sets of metal stock come from small antenna for phones or transponders installed in vehicles.

Telescoping magnetic pick up tools from any auto part retailers. Can be found in various sizes :)
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture
