My copy of an antique..

My youngest son was in Jordan on a dig for his Masters in Archeology, I asked that he bring me back a lock or something. This is a small scorpion about 6 inches. The tail is the hasp. The key is inserted into the mouth and pushes up on the two springs that are att to the tail. When you compress one spring flat the other side follows and you slide the tail off.
He went thru living hell with customs every step of the way on his trip back to Uof Toronto,,, from him stealing sacred icons..etc.....paranoia.

I have one very similar, it's a rabbit, made in China, with an identical locking/key mechanism. These are fun locks.
They appear on ebay from time to time.

Just curious, but how much do they tend to go for?


Very pretty scarab. Admittedly, not the most high security lock, but it'd definitely be fun to have in your trophy collection.

he paid around 25 bucks after the standard haggling over price...I hate that part, the negotiation for an already over priced trinket bobble or curio....I think it was worth it, it is well made, looks and feels cool as well
