what about those really tiny padlocks

European hardware -lever locks, profile cylinders specific for European locks. European lock picks and European locks.

what about those really tiny padlocks

Postby possamai » 24 Aug 2004 7:01

I was just wondering..
How should I open those really small padlocks?
My picks don't really fit in there... well they fit but there's no room to move'm anymore.. especially when I try to fit in a tensiontool..
I have the HPC Pickset 2000 made for european locks so they're pretty small... but not small enough apparently...

i had made a long rake, which broke off, because of the bad tempering, so i decided to cut the good part down so far, its like a little mini pick, very very thin, and it fits in every small lock, i've got a small tension wrench as well

Custom making mini picks is the cheapest way that I can think of.
using a Dremel or bench grinder is the easiest way but if you don't have one, a file or two will do.

Ditto that. Just scale down some custom picks to suit the smaller locks. I know I keep going on about wiper blade strips, but they can be suitable for normal sized locks, and particularly effective for the smaller locks such as those used for luggage.
Image If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

I've had really good luck using Raimundo's single bump Bogata pick on the override cylinders in Master combination locks. The handle of a second Bogata makes a fine tension wrench for resticted keyways also.
