Sugru

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Found this product today (I'm not connected with it in any way). Looks as if it would be useful to build up handles of lock picks... Might be suitable pad vices with as well.

It's a type of putty that sets by itself overnight. The site also seems to have lots of pictures of stuff 'hacked' together using the stuff, so I'm sure they would just love to see what we could do with it.

hey Mhole, try this,
put some aluminum foil on a clean smooth flat surface, about a two inch square of it, and smooth it in every direction by dragging a finger accross it til its flat without any kinks then fold it over and insert a key, between the folds, gently press the foil into the key trying not to tear it, and as it gets to a tight fit over the key press the deepest parts with the sharp edge of one of those pink erasers in to fit it tight, then put the silicon material on the outside to hold the shape, stick to the foil and support it, using the foil as a parting layer between this stuff and the key,

if you do both sides of the key you may have a very nice key mold that could be used with other pour able material for a harder copy,

If you try to fill this mold with any heated substance such as woods metal, or other bismuth compounds, be sure to work outside and upwind, as the chemicals involved may produce gases.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!
