effective advertising

Hi. Jerry here with Atom Lock & Key

I was just wondering what you guys do as an effective way of advertising or other ideas of getting more business.

I understand most people use locksmiths in have-to situations, and alot of people go their entire lives without ever using a locksmith.. When the time comes to use a locksmith generally speaking most people would resort to a phone book, and more and more people would google you, or find you via smart phones.

I do alot of work for people across central Arkansas, and find that some people dont even know you can re-key locks..

I had a call from a guy that said " I need all my locks changed, and Ive already bought them, can you come and install them?" I got his information and went to his residence to find the reason behind changing all his locks is because he was tired of carrying around so many keys. I explained to him that I could re-key his existing locks and save him some money.. He had no idea.

I have alot of repeat customers such as real-estate offices, businesses and home builder accounts, but sometimes with all of those customers, and phonebook ads and what not, we still slow down..

What are effective ways of getting more business in the locksmith business?? What does everyone else do??

Im open to any ideas and suggestions and will share any information of mine also.. Thank you.

You’re asking a very good question, but your own research will precede any response you may receive here. It's like asking a real-estate broker, how’s the housing market? You already know the answer.
Keys? We don't need no stinkin keys!

You already seem good at advertising, your user name is your business name and you like to remind us of it every time you say hi this is Jerry from x Small Particle Lock and Key.. is that really necessary? we know where you're from, says it in the user name field.

We're your own people, no need to sell to us. Know what i mean?

A prosperous New Year to all of us,
