This is the old Locksmith business info area and will be broken down to fill in the new sections below.

In the past, I have often picked the lock, turned the plug just fractionally and just played away for 5-10 minutes or so.

The perception of the customer is important, depending on how cold it is outside.

Picking it quickly and just letting them in could prove the opportunity to upsell too.

Ha! I did that once too. Just stuck the pick in and turned like I had the key. Played with it for a minute so I could avoid the enevitable questions.

Unless it is something like a store brand "white box" lock, or a kwikset etc, look at them and say something like "Yes, Im that good......"
I used to have a buddy who did residential electrical and his nickname was Johnny Paycheck. He had been an electrician for a LONG time, and his hourly rate reflected his skill and experience. But the funny part was that he would put his customers at ease by joking about it. He would tell them how good he was with a bit grin on his face. In reality he saved them money because he would get the job done faster than most of his competition.
