All Squelchtone was saying is simply that kwikset took a step to try and develop a better product. Pricing did win out however and Kwikset made cuts in areas of the lock that make it very vulnerable. They made an attempt and I believe at first it was whole hearted but when the numbers were looked over they ended up making two steps forward and one step back and now have a product that is in my eyes pretty much useless.
I do think with some revisions the product could be made vastly better. Thicker hardened wafers, much better toleranced, a better retention system than that flimsy clip and protection from drilling weak points would be a start.
