Hi all, I'm not going to try and ask you how to crack this type of lock, all I need is the name of this style of lock so I can continue Googleing to try and find the answer. So can anyone tell me the type of lock these are classified as? I tried searching around these forums but couldnt find anything under "Key lock box" or words to that effect, Cheers, Nick
Some people call it a real estate lock box cos many real estate agents use them so they don't have to keep track of millions of different keys for all the homes they're selling. Just set them to all the same combo and safely store/hang the houses keys on the door knob.
They got pretty popular for a while when the foreclosure thing was at its peak. We were doing these eviction style re-keys for real estate agents and banks about once every or every other week and they usually asked if we had any of these lock boxes to use after the home is "secured".
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture
Without going into specificis as to why, I would NOt trust putting my housekeys in these containers-at least where a bad guy could easly tell which house the keys indide the container went to.
Heh, if the OP could not figure out the brand/model name of that lockbox with the photos he/she provided and googling, well... I'm not overly concerned they will find a way to "hack" this box.
Also, OP, I also used to be into urban exploring- don't you know the golden rule of leave only footprints- take only photos??? (and not break / break into stuff?)
Uh ya, the real reason no one has really mentioned anything of very good info is for one good reason- this lock is considered advanced by nature and use.
