I must say I hate when I'm re-keying a lock and I somehow mess up... And I have to re-pin the top pins with the springs... It's such a hassle.

I would have loved to watch this video last night, but the link seems to be dead.. Is this available anywhere else?

Again I seem to be a day late & a dollar short...this time I made sure to read the whole thread before crying about dead links though;) SOO...is this video showing elsewhere, or has it been replaced by an even better one that I just haven't found yet?

I have some site backups but I'll have to look and see what videos are on the discs. Then I'll have to find someone to host the files as they are fairly large.

I was also stymied by a dead link. Thought it might be due to script blocker but stymied again. I assume this is just using a plug follower to guide springs in, then shoving top pins down over springs using the end of a tension wrench or diamond pick?

The first time I took my lock apart, I just pulled the plug out. And then the pins and springs came out. It was such a major hassle. So what I did to put it back was take my rake (I have a SouthOrd C-Rake) and slide the springs on that. Then I put them in the slots, then use my pinky finger to get the top pin in. And then hold it down with a tension wrench. It's a bit of a hassle, but it works.

You replied to a post from 2007 so dead links are bound to happen, but I did just talk with the original poster yesterday so there's a chance he can upload it again.

Stay tuned, I'll send zeke a message

I should still have some old server backups somewhere. I'll take a look around this weekend and see if I can find the video.

I looked for a copy of the video this weekend and must have tossed my backups on disc. I still might have it on an old NAS but I'll have to dig it out and hope the IDE drives will still spin up.
