Me being new to lock pick, i just had about 2 master locks on chest i found in my attic i thought why dont i try picking the lock so i ordered a simple 5 peice Pick set online, do you guys think that would be enough to pick a master combination lock with a keyhole in the back? Also cloud i use this for other things like Deadbolt Tumbler locks and simple doorknoob locks

http://www.selfdefenseproducts.com/lockpick.htm ( the top one )

PS if there any people that are skilled at lock picking and are willing to make me a nice pick set then please say so i can pay via paypal

Binary,

I hope you don't think that just owning a pick set will make you a locksmith. These are not magic wands. When your set arrives, give it a go at those locks. When you get flustered, try reading all the great post's on this board. Access them via the " search " button at the top of board.

To fully understand what happens in a lock, you have to understand it first. My best advice to you is to read all you can, practice all you can, read some more, practice some more....etc.

Best wishes to you mastering this field!

The basic 5 piece set will do most of the locks you will start learning with. Most of the guys on here will tell you they have a few favorite picks that get used and the rest get left in the case. Tension wrenches are a good thing to add though. There are about as many types of tension wrenches as there are picks. Just find what what works best for you and stick with it. Start with a cheap set that way if you don't like it you aren't out much money, but if you are like most of us you will be hooked!!!

Might want to check here too if you need more tools later:

Red is one of our sponsors and if you put LP101 in the coupon line you get an extra 10% off.

Good luck... :D :D :D

I use more different tension wrenches than I do picks.

Funny thing is I don't really like to use the half diamond picks, and they seem to be everyone's forte. Maybe I should try 'em more.

i remember when i got my first jackknife i was wondering "why are there so many tensions on this website, you only need one"
and soon after i realized the more tensions the better

-sidenote-
that website is about 150% on prices of other sites,if your planning on getting other sets, check out southord.com or lockpickshop.com
selfdefence place 14set=35 dollars
southord 14set=24 dollars
lockpickshop=24 dollars(plus isnt there a discount code lp101 for 10 more %?

If someone could send me a message of good ways to learn how to feel out the pins.It would be great.
Bored of raking the backdoor.I understand tension now, just wanna step it up a bit.
