Simplest Snap Gun Possibly

Postby jor2daje » 11 Apr 2009 22:45

This weekend I did a lot of bench grinding, I made a pretty nice little set of picks, and as I was cleaning up I picked up my staple gun and was playing with it. I realized it would be really easy to use the little hammer that hits to staple to hit a pick instead. I ground down a spoke then bent it so the hammer would hit it.

I've only used this on a few locks because its no where near as fun as actual lock picking and I think it would wear out the lock pretty quickly. However it was very effective on the few locks I tried.

With just a little effort you made a working pick gun? Brilliant 8)

I'd like to see it in action. Also, have you ever tried a professional one? So you can tell us the differences from and carateristics of your creation.

Cheers :)

Sorry, I have never used a real pick gun so I cant give any insight into how they compare.
Hopefully I can take a video some time this weekend, still trying to figure my new camera out.

Don't mean to necro post, but I'm intrigued by this. Is your "hammer" flush with the base of the stapler or is that cutway how it hits the pick? I'm creating one with an adjustable power stable gun and I'm wondering if I have to mod my stapler at all.

This is a great idea, Don't know why anyone hasn't gotten a vid of it in action.
