Do you think your post will somehow shame or rally us into helping you pick a washing machine coin storage lock?

ESD is a company, it's not a type of lock.

You must have read ESD on the front of your washing machine lock, when in fact it can be a Medeco, Abloy, ACE II, or other style lock. And since you used the word "strange" then I know you must be talking about the ESD-XEP which is an Abloy Classic generic knock off and uses the "half moon" keys.

We don't talk about picking containers that store money in open areas of the forum because we don't want that information getting in the wrong hands. this includes soda machines, vending machines, washing machines, dryers, document safes, petty cash boxes, real safes, bank vaults, ATM machines, etc and so on.

I know what kind of locks they are silly, im not referring to the half moon locks those are easy, if it was about some silly quarters it would be alot less headache to remove the slider and go from there, im just curious what kind of lock is the XD is it waffer disc or pin, dont get so hostile.. :D

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt whenever possible... but I have to agree with Wizer: it's very strange that any experienced picker -- and, in particular, anyone with the skills to tackle Medecos and Abloy Classic knockoffs -- wouldn't be able to tell the difference between disc tumbler, wafer and pin-tumbler locking mechanisms just by looking at the keyway. (Unless we're all misunderstanding part of your original question?)

You've picked Medeco and you can't rake open a double sided wafer? c'mon.. give us a break man.. and for the record, I'm not being hostile, just very skeptical.

and check this out, someone else beat you to it, and we had doubts about his motives as well, so don't feel like you're being singled out. http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=24148&start=0

I agree with what greyman wrote about it looking like a DUO, but not a triple DUO, looks like a basic version.

the esd photo appears to show a duo medeco abloy and an ace cylinder, but if you look at the keyhole in the cash box just above, that appears to be tubar.

Geez, for a lock picking website people sure can be jerks. This site is called 'LOCK PICKING 101' Then you got some guy saying they won't help you break into something? How do you even know that's the goal? I got my first laundry mat machine and I couldn't even figure out how to open it. Does that make me a theif? Sorry, some people are to thin headed to jump the gun and not think before they talk. Anyway, if someone ever gives you crap on a 'LOCK PICKING' website, just ignore them, they obviously don't know how to not judge. There's plenty of videos on YouTube on how to do it for ESD locks. I would recommend finding a lock picking kit, although kinda hard to find but they are out there.

@Crimnt:

So you join here and make a post 14 minutes after signing up only to necro-post on a thread from 11.5 years ago ?

Your post clearly shows a lack of understanding what this site is about and the rules which are here to protect everyone.

Definitely not one of the best first posts/introductions I've seen in my time here, but does fit the pattern of someone wanting to achieve a goal (opening a vending machine/machine containing money) and not bothering to have read the site rules before taking the losing side in a debate started a long time ago in a land far away.

Good luck to you.
