OK. i got some new photos :D There is my case closed:

And my case half-opened

opened with secured picks:

and fully opened - ready to work with.

That's it...
And another two picks, both shows my grinder to make picks. As You can see i made it myself too, from a washing-mashine pump motor and a cut-away blade what i found in my garbage :D it's some hard to use but works... And I got all of this stuff for all most free :D

Grinder:

Heh, WHAT will You say now? Heh I made it all myself only :D like a McGyver.
And case i made using only my hands and scissors, and needle(?) of course :D

For my picks i want to make a handles from heat-shrink long time ogo but... i doesn't have time to buy it. Now i think about plastic handles but we will see.

Thanks for all good words, and see ya, i'm going to work :D

BTW I got much more to practice but i'm still practicing... I have opened only about 10 locks so it's not too good. And first lock i opened in about 15-20 minutes :D now i'm making it in about 1-5 minutes so it's better.
And one more thing, i usually picking pin-by-pin method so it's individual picking.

Has got anyone better homemade set than me? :D
I will upgrade it so don't be so happy

Hey Tomash

I have been monitoring this post for a while since I started it ages ago, and I must say, you are progressing nicely, One thing I dont like about your picks is that you leave the blue paint stuff on your picks, but I did notice you took it of the tips, I just think that it looks better all silvery but I mean its your choice, they look like they can work and thats all that really matters, and god that grinder is classic...Good job

I want to know how you made your pick case?

Can you give out some instructions?

I'm a little concerned about your safety when using that 'grinder'. Just make sure you have a foot or something on the base board when it is in use, otherwise, if that thing tips over, it'll be all around the house like Taz!

Grinder is cool and don't make any problems, i know that i should to safe a blade but i don't have time to do this... My case is simple... first i cutted a part of material and sew it together, with part of a cardboard inside to make it all inflexible. then i added another part, which made a picks pockets. i added a divisions, and lock to all case... that's it.

Remember that it should be estetic...
Ask whife or mother how to sew it, in a good, hard and estetic way...

I hope that someone known anything from that i wroted.

CY... now I'm picking:D and producing a basic set for my friend :D

not so hard, depends on how much patience you have while making them, if you have, you can grind very slowly, and make perfect angles

A little update on my pickset :D

this is the set im using at the moment, all home made, with the new case from Eagerpicker (thanks a lot for that :D)

not all of my picks are in it, but these are the ones im using.

Image

the smallest of the 3 diamonds is my production for today :) those are the three i use the most, i think the smallest is my new favorite. the rest, from left to right is:

top left:
extra small tension wrench (allen wrench grinded down)
medium half diamond (street wiper bristle)
extra extra small and thin half diamond (hacksaw blade)
falle style hook 4 (hacksaw blade)

middle:
medium tension wrench (allen wrench)
medium angled tension wrench (allen wrench)

top right:
queen pick (hacksaw blade)
bogota rake (hacksaw blade)
king pick (hacksaw blade)
snake rake (hacksaw blade)

bottom right:
medium half diamond (hacksaw blade)
large half diamond (hacksaw blade)
small half diamond (hacksaw blade)

what do you guys think about it?

Everytime I check this thread I feel like the laziest person on earth....I've so far only managed to make CAD templates for some of the falle picks and have made one tool....a plug spinner...I need to make some picks today just to see if I can.

Don't feel bad, man...the only home-made pick tools I've made are tension wrenches from street sweeper bristles with a vise, hammer, and side-cutters. 8)
