Here's a link to view a SouthOrd E100C. There's 7 pictures in various stages of disassembly. I'm linking them instread of directly in the post so it doesn't overwhelm the screen.

Fairly easy to go by this to make one.

I'll post some pics of one I made and details if everyone wants it.

Wow I thought there would have been more to it than that. Any chance you could take some pictures with a ruler along the x and y axis?

Thanks

I'm gonna put these up as a zip download... quite a few pics to upload.
If you want a specific shot, let me know.

I have searched this site and google for my answer and no luck

When the motor turns, does the tip move in litterally around (in a circle I would assume) or does it stay still and spin.

It doesn't remain still and rotate. It's like a cam in a car. The hole in the "tip" is off center, so it has high and low spots.

It rolls around on the centered "tip" causing the arm it's attached to to bounce.

I was curious if you could tell what type of motor it is. Any model numbers or manufacturers marks?

I'll tell you this... You can find a motor like this for building your own pretty cheap by going to a sex store and getting a vibrator. ;) Seriously. ;)

There is no numbers or markings on the motor at all. In the one I made, I used a motor from the eject mechanism off a VCR. Every lock I've opened with the Southord I can open with mine, about the same time to open etc. The only difference, I have a hard rubber wheel on the pin arm, which greatly reduced the noise.
