Not sure if i ever posted this vid on LP101, i couldnt find it...

Its a useful trick if you're lever lock suddenly wont open after its been a bit ropey. Usually worn levers or key issues.

As demonstrated by a local locky near me

That's interesting. Of course it's not actually being "bumped" open like pin tumblers, but definitely interesting.

The principle is the same and if you could take a quick peek at a key you could roughly cut one by memory and employ the same methods... :wink:

Have they tried it with any other keys? For example a generic key cut to the 5 position?

@Josh

This is a technique for making a worn key and/or lock combination unlock with the proper key. It would be mechanically impossible to use a "555" ?!? key because lever locks do not have a shear line, so there is nothing for an inertial attack to attack. :)

Kind of like wiggling your car key when it sticks.
