Hi everyone!
I own a vehicle inspection station here in Texas where it's manditory to have your car inspected (emissions). i see about 400 cars a month so i also duplicate non transponder keys here. It's apparent though that i to begin doing transponder keys as well. question is which duplicator. EZ clone plus or the JMA TRS 5000. I do appreciate any help on this....glenn

Hey, Glenn, you'll probably get a little more traction on this question in the Locksmithing sub-section.

The newest generation cloners are just being released so you may want to pick one of those up. They can clone the Philips ID46 transponder, which means GM, Honda, Chrysler, Acura, and other previously "unclonables" are now fair game.
Ilco's new version is the "RW4 Plus" which is self-contained. JMA's is the "TPH" which attaches to the existing TRS-5000. Bianchi also makes a "B7100" that attaches to their Repli-Code 7 unit.
I have a JMA TRS-5000 + TPX Cloner and it's very simple to use. But the Ilco stuff is also good. It seems all of these units are upgradable too, so you aren't stuck when something new comes out. Even the older RW4 can be upgraded to clone the new Philips stuff.

Hi Mark, Does the new TPH cloner copy texas chips, or do you need three devices to copy all? -Wizer

It looks like you will need 3 devices to copy all. If you Google search the TPH, you will notice a few vendors selling "TRS-5000 + TPX + TPH" kits. I already have the 5000 and TPX, so adding a TPH makes sense for me. If you are just getting into transponders, you might want to compare pricing pricing (JMA kit vs Ilco RW4+ and Bianchi).

Are these kits just RFID cloners?!

Thanks Mark! I was told to wait a little longer like you suggested by tech support at Ilco. Apparently JMA, RW4, and EZ clone plus are relatively the same. The difference being the key blades/heads.

You got it -- all the cloners are pretty much the same. Just find one with a good price and from a company you trust. I personally like Ilco products and you won't regret dealing with them. I'm not a big fan of their transponder keys though, because they use a head/blade system that requires batteries. This means in a couple years your customer's key will stop working unless they replace the battery. Imagine how angry they will be when their key won't start the car all of a sudden. (Ilco suggests replacing the battery in the key head every 2 years).

P.S. Do you have a good key machine, since you are cutting lots of auto keys?
