finally found 5 mins to dismantle

you would have a right game trying to snap this off its very well made the stronger shaft is held in by screws and circlips

sidebar has 4 spring loaded wafer pins

That's a smart design, looks like it could be designed to incorporate spacer pieces allowing you to make up different cylinder lengths on the fly.

I think making a euro snap resistant rather than including a delibrate snap off portion is a much better idea. I always though that having a snap off portion is just handing somebody a quick way to remove 4 pin stacks from a lock, making it much easier to pick. Why try to pick or bump a 7 pin mtl lock if you could just snap off half of it and try your hand at a 3 pin version?!

yes id imagine its part of those build a euro-kits.

Those kits cost a fortune though i priced one up once for about £1500 quid just for the basic one.

Id put it in a door and film myself trying to snap it but i only have two and id rather hang on to them for the minute

still havent picked mine...yet. i got the sidebar wafers working and reset the lot with a slip of the hook

just keep at it! Once you get a feel for it it's easier, but it's still a complex lock.
