I am confused a little please help out.

OK, so i have used the fire technique, i get soot on the blank key. I then insert the blank key into the lock.

Is it correct that i keep filing the marks down that are stronger marked than the other marks? and When do i stop filing?

You are on the right track. but remember if you can see any mark then it needs additional filing. Just remember to take it slow and easy. Just one or two very lite file strokes and then then re-insert and look for marks again. Impressioniong still gives me trouble but I am having success with it using this technique. Just be patient and do not get angry and over-file. GOOD LUCK
