The above post is simply a forcing of opinion as fact. If you prefer SouthOrd picks you do not need a new hobby, you simply have a preference.
I have no doubt from reading accounts of members I respect here that Peterson do very good tools but it is far more important to note the relevance of personal choice. Some people use half diamonds some use hooks (I'm sure someone out there SPPs with a saw rake).
I personally have an (albeit somewhat sanded down) SouthOrd long hook alongside the picks I bought from LN and think they make perfectly acceptable tools.
