Hello everyone.
I'm looking for information the chest lock pictured below:
The keyway measures about 1/4" by 1/2" I dont have a key (its not locked) but I would like to make or buy one. Or pick it.
Any ideas?

You should be able to buy a barrel key at your local locksmith. Locks like that one, usually only have a spring lever inside that barely needs pushed (think toy handcuffs). Picking it, should be self explanatory.

That would make it a chestitty belt...and if you opened it like you said you did...did it open from the front, or the back?   If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

I have had luck in the past with these kinds of locks by jiggling a small screwdriver inside the lock, and bingo it opens.  Support your local locksmith -lose your keys

Mick, I think he had to have opened that lock from the front. Many of us know that the dual locking model that opens from the rear is pretty impossible most days.

Yes, I'm married, and those locks are easy to pick one handed, though the other security measures can make it difficult on some days...

LOL, but if you pretend to be having trouble ID'ing the rearward facing lock, there's usually an extra pair of hands on standby. If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!
