impressioning lever locks

anyone got any tips on lever impressioning?
Iv had a dabble but found it difficult to distinguish between a cut mark and a mark left by levers just riding the blank :?

Don't be afraid to apply plenty of torque on the key.
Otherwise , its all pretty straightforward.

Hey Rick - belated congrats and hope you had a great honeymoon.

Have you tried blacking the blank (smoke with candle/use marker pen/dab of tippex etc etc)?

Cheers...
