Ever had a moment where you feel like your on candid camera lol?

I was called out to a very deaf old lady a few days ago to open her front door.
She was very deaf and could barely understand anything i was saying.

I tried picking form the outside but was finding it difficult so explained (at 200dB) i would try from the inside of the door.
So she toddles off round the back and opens up.

I collect my tools and walk round to find her facing the door looking out the glass.
I tried many times to get her attention, coughing loudly etc so i didnt have to tap her on the shoulder. She was pretty old and i figured she might have a heart attack should i startle her...

She could hear what i was saying but clearly thought i was on the other side of the door still

In the end i gave in, walked all the way round and spoke through the letter box to tell he im coming round lol

Its not nice dealing with vunerable people like this, she needed to be in a home to be honest.

Yeah , it can be difficult dealing with old people.
The city I work in is very popular with retired people (and also drug addicts) , so I get more than my fair share of them.

A while ago , we changed a cylinder to a 3KS for an elderly man. I told him in the store that he would need the certificate if he needed new keys. My collegue who placed the cylinder told him the same thing.
The very next day , he's in the store , and wants new keys. I ask him if he has his certificate. And he claims he has it at home. Comes back 3 hours later , still no certificate. I tell him the same thing over again. He comes back the next day , still no certificate. A couple of days later he saids he thinks he has what I need , and shows me his bus pass  . Yeah , that didn't really help.
