Looking for advice on this// other Dimple pick set

Postby CrookieMonster » 12 Jul 2010 3:52

since i am broke i am thinking of ordering this KLOM 31-piece set(i know that there was another thread on this subject)
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16416
this GOSO set looks like it is made out of some pretty cheap // rusted // beat up metal but it seems to have a lot of dif size dimples.. im sure i can get more out of the KLOM set
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.17605
my question is: does anyone have another dimple set that they recommend other then this Chinese // Korean stuff? the last time i ordered from DX it took 2 weeks with EMS shipping and i still havent received my digital calipers(its been 1 month now)..
It has been brought to my attention that some users do not like the fact that my username has the word "Crook" in it. It is a 10 year old gamertag and I am working on changing it. I hope that it has not caused any confusion // misinterpretation.

I have the Goso set and the are cheap and nasty. Like my Southord pick set I just use 1 or 2 picks and the rest stay in the box.

However, the strange torsion wrench is just the right size for my mul-t-locks and works much better than any of my other normal wrenches.

Personally, I would just get the super cheap 5 or 6 dollar DX set. The only tool you will really use will be the short hook (that seems to be the way most people go) or the half-diamond. Really its probably better to just make your own tools.

As far as dimple picks go, I have no idea how the second set you posted works. maybe they are some sort of jiggler? the normal dimple picks are shaped kind of like a P with a longer vertical line (like a flag on a pole). These are inserted into the keyway and work like regular picks, finding the binding pin and pushing it up.

have you ordered yet?

I seem to be the only person I know who never has any luck with DX. All 3 orders of mine have been screwed up and or lost.
