tubular locks

Postby katie_saunders » 18 Jul 2010 9:28

I have registered on here before but i forgot my user name and email address
since i joined i mastered picking my padlocks , a old front door lock i brought from a bootsale and several other types of locks even some with security pins in and tumbler locks.

I am interested in picking tubular locks. I brought a job lot of tubular locks which where removed from old arcade/vending machines
there are about 50 different locks all in all i managed to get them for a song.
i am saving up for a south0rd tubular lock pick

I am not sure if i need the 7 or 8 pin or both.

Would the south0rd tubular picks ,pick these locks?
going by youtube people usually pick cheap tubular locks from tubular padlocks to tubular car locks but i have my doubts they would pick these old used arcade & vending machine locks because i would imagine that they are more secure then the cheap tubular locks.

I just hope i did not waste my £40 buying these locks at auction
and if they are no good then i do not really want to splash out for picks that wont work with them.

pics? some locks are better than others some have a very narrow keyway or ball bearing ward to prevent tubular impressioning tools

I would just examine some of the keys and count the number of cuts...

Order the appropriate pick based on your examination...

Sadly Rick those look like they were all 90º cam locks rather than 270º...

The look like pretty generic 7-pin tubular locks: I'd be surprised if any of the usual 7-pin tubular picks (SouthOrd, etc.) didn't work for you.

Heh...I also read it as 3-quarter turn rather than 3, quarter turn.

Four candles and pumps?

Cheers..

   To be honest it would be easier to pay the 50p you wont pick a modern vending lock with a tubular impressioning tool.
