Here's a phonecamera image of one of the quieter moments at the Lockpicking village - And the Lockpicking Wizard competition - That's the back of Squelchtones and Babaks heads in the foreground. If you look close, you can see the hanging cluster of padlocks for another competition.

As a phreak in my past life prior to getting into police scanners and lock picking, when I saw that the HOPE conference was called HOPE X, it didn't take my brain too long to put the two ideas together. Hope you like it, no pun intended.

Hack the planet, see you at the con!

If I remember correctly, I saw that image used on (at least) the volunteer badges. The NYNeX logo with the crack in it?

yes, those were like the old employee badges. The payphone signs were used to identify each speaking area. here is Bradley/Chelsea Manning Here is one by the elevators on 18th floor: What a great time to be had by all! I wonder if anyone ever picked that black ABUS padlock hanging from the pipe? Squelchtone

That pipe looked like a sprinkler feeder; I might be wrong but it was probably not the best place to hang a lock

nah, it was a support pipe that held up the 2 4 inch pipes that brought water upstairs. I dont think there were any sprinkler heads near by, but I suppose breaking a 4 inch sprinkler main would have turned the Mezzanine and hotel lobby into a swimming pool. glad you found this forum after visiting HOPE! I found HOPE well before LP101 (I went to to the first one, and every one after that up until 2k2 and then I skipped a few). Though I did buy an LP101 tee shirt, I think it was at Defcon, many years before actually signing up here.
I was standing by the elevators on the 18th floor and saw the text on the bottom of the signs that had your name on them. I explained to my friend "I think that guy is from the Lockpicking 101 forums" but I don't think he got what I was saying...
Your signs were really cool by the way, everyone noticed them (though I bet most people didn't read the fine print).
