WIGGLING DEVICE FOR IMPRESSIONING (Dimple lock cyl)

Postby yono » 29 Jul 2009 2:38

Thanks to Nukillist. now i can face a dimple lock as any other lock. With my handheld wiggling Device, that cut almost 50% of wiggling time. The information was so great and tested successfully.(only I failed in my first attemt, the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th are all to my delightful surprise. A SUCCESS!.
tHIS SIMPLE DEVICE IS MY ORIGINAL iDEA AND DESIGN.
**Since the information will compromise such brand of lock security & my purpose was to only introduce my wiggling device alone, i wont disclose the process of opening. Or better, if the Moderator will move this to Advanced level, for fellow advanced locksmith info.(as rules required.)
regards.

hello yono and greetings from Australia
mate i am new to the forums, but i have been a long time buyer from the lockpick shop,i have spent well over a thousand AU$ in the store (don't tell me missus) so please don't consider me a noob, the reason i have joined this forum ,is to learn the art of impressioning ,to have some one explain the finer details of the art, in layman's terms.
now i have tried to impression only two keys for two locks ,went through a few blanks ,did not make a working key,at this point i decided i needed a few pointers ,or i was just going to develop bad habits, and bad Technic,
anyway mate with that out of the way ,i have a few questions about your device ,
 1.first your (very good tech) drawing varys from you finished twisting device,or did you do the build first and them draw later
 2.i am assume the cylinders are acting as a crude handle while you impression the key
 3.is this device part of a larger device that acts as a jig, as it is a dimple lock and has to be drilled instead of filed and again i am assuming that you drill in a drill press and not with a 18v cordless(which brings up the question of mobility)
 4.what are the benefits over your device to say a pair of multi grips which a through were standard equipment
mate i understand that you may not be able to answer some of my questions as we are in the open forums ,but im pretty keen to get my impression apprenticeship under way so any information you can give would be appreciated
Alcohol, the cause of ,and the answer to, all my problems,
And when did common sense become a superpower

hi Dallalama, thanks for the interest, here are the answers to your questions
i hope this help you pal.
1.i build first and draw later.
2.the cylinder and the handle are permanently fixed, while the "shaft to the key" is movable to a limited distance that is controlled by the pin and the "cut" in the cylinder.
3.that cordless drill you are using seem fine to me, mine i use a handheld electric drill 220vac.
4.the "cross pin grips" is just optional, the effective one you see like a thumbturn(actually its really a thumbturn) THAT is where the best movement of the wiggling that makes my impressioning fast and effective. goodluck pal.

Please apply again and I'll try to get you on the current list. I thought you applied a year ago, but you aren't on any of the lists so apparently something didn't work right.
