Hi I'm new. Looking into getting into this. I have a bunch of manuals and have been reading techniques and such; will procure tools soon.

Hey everyone. Just picked up my first lock pick set. The forums have been awesome. Haven't gotten very far yet but am trying to find some time to start practicing more often. Although i have gotten around to picking several warded locks from wal-mart which seem to be fairly easy to pick using a hook pick.

Go, introduction post..

I've been picking on and off for 10 years, got my first pick set as a birthday present.

Introduced 4 or 5 friends to picking, and have helped a handful of people get into things that they've locked themselves out of.

Hope to learn a lot of useful information and maybe find a group in my area.

I am not terribly social, though.. so I expect my post count to stay low. =/

Hello all, I am BLooDBaTH and I have been picking for a few months now. I have purchased and had donated over 200 locks now, which I have suprisingly managed to pick most of. Greets to you all and props for your skills. I stumbled on this site while looking for information on old Master Locks, the 44 55 and 66 to be specific. Then I ended up making a list of all my locks to show off my victory and sorrow. Abloy you hate me.... Again, greets.

Hey now, I just started this account with an agenda (for a bump key question) and am really really glad to be here. I am a newbee locksmith (licensed) in California, and I value any useful information I can pick up. Thanks for this great resource!

I'm from Ontario, Canada and have been involved in information security for the past 10 years or so. I have recently been asked to join a red team organization that completes work that includes physical penetration testing. Though my speciality is the IT side of penetration testing, I've always been interested in physical security as well, as evidenced by my attempts as a child (sometimes succesful) to open combination locks by sound/feel. I suppose I have a passion for opening doors (electronic/metaphorical or not) that are otherwise not supposed to be opened, so the transition and interest from computer security into physical security (and lock/safe/security bypass) is a given in my mind.

I'm very excited to see such a vibrant and well versed community here at Lock Picking 101 and am excited to learn from those veterans here while also trying to contribute in whatever ways I can over the coming years.

Hello, all. Never really introduced myself even though I have been perusing this site for a few years. Thought maybe it is about time I started posting and helping out where I can, if I can. Currently employed as a Computer Network Administrator but have worked as a locksmith and as a recovery agent in the past and still love the challenges every new lock presents me. Thanks. cya around.

Another Noob checking in, just got started with lockpicking had my first open yesterday a Master No150 and I've picked it several times now, but I think i'm just getting lucky with it as my times are really inconsistent and I can't get it open every time. I've a lot to learn to get beyond the poke and prod stage.

Hey,

I'm new to the site, but ever since I was a little kid I have been fascinated with escape artists such as Houdini and have always questioned locks and the art of escaping them. The reason I joined the site, is to gather information to make an informed decision when buying lock picking sets, as well as to share my passion with others.
