MAGNETIC pick handles?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

MAGNETIC pick handles?

Postby pin_pusher » 9 Aug 2010 17:30

so i stumbled across some sticky-sided paper-sized sheets of magnetic laminate...i thought to myself, "what else can i do beside make an obnoxious amount of magnetic poetry?" so i cut a few strips and stuck them to some extra lockpicks and cut away the excess material. i only attached it to the handles of the picks, and the thickness is less than that of a riveted steal plated handle on, say, an hpc set of picks. so the weight and size didn't change noticeably. it's a super convenient thing to decorate the sides of tool cabinets with picks to save room...also, hard to lose and easy to recover if lost, because they attach to most surfaces. and i was able to hold other picks, and tension wrenches, to the magnetized picks. keeps things together pretty well.

but the best part is: they make great fridge magnets.

I agree, very nifty. I have a few stuck to a safe on the workbench.

also you could make a target, and to decide what tool to use while practicing pick the one that hits bullseye. :!:

cool idea- what material was it? can you actually pick with it?

Either way I should make some of these for my dorm.

Wow that is a great idea.
I love the magnetic laminate you start sticking all stuff to the fridge.
