Sorry in advance since this may be a very ameture question, but can you lock a lock with a set of picks? I have tried a couple of times, but no success.
Thanks for such a great site!

Course you can. It's exactly the same as opening, you're doing the same thing. I assume you're working on either euro cylinders or mortice lever locks?

You cannot lock Weslock entrance sets with picks!

Why?
the key cylinder only turns to unlock. The lock is only locked by pushing the button inside.

So, It can't be locked with a key either? Shoot, I wonder if their is a bypass type tool that could reach in and "pull in" the button from outside to lock the door?

well, if the door is open and you want to lock it you don't need any keys or bypass... just open the door, press the button, close the door Cheers

Wonder what lock the poster is referring to? Some of those locks with the pushbutton, unlock as soon as you close the door, I found, you can push button in, apply turning pressure to the know whil closing will allow it to remain locked.

The Weslock entrance set does not have the conventional button you may be thinking of. The button is on the side of the inside rose, not in the actual knob.
