uhm, try relaxing.

You may be thinking you're hot shit before you really know anything which result in hacking the hell out of the pins. "Why isn't it opening!"

That's how it goes. Somedays you can pick a lock just by looking at it, and other days you just want a little bit of C4.

I find that the more you try the worse it gets. I get like this escpecially on cylinders and you end up putting more and more tension on. So I just relax now and this works for me.

I tend to have more problems with euro's,while cylinder's i tend to be ok with, picking by hand or with a pick gun.but again some days i just practice with the pick gun and nothing else, just for the difference in how certain locks open, and then the next day try a pick for the whole day, nothing else-----------ive got the time at present!!

It's frustrating when you're practicing, but can be embarrassing if you're on a door - get good at bluffing!.

I find it difficult at the moment to make time for practicing, if I'm not on the road, I'm ensuring my stock is replenished, accounts are up-to-date, or looking for the next opportunity !.

Make the most of the practice time - relax and enjoy it. If a lock isn't playing, move on to the next one. It'll only defeat you temporarily.

Life on the road? You guys have time for a life when you're on the road?

Talk about lucky.

If I manage to get this stuff all straightened out, the next year is going to be so busy I'll have to get an new laptop just so I can stay on-line from the road.

An A-Z strapped to your leg, sandwich in your hand, one eye on the road - and the other on the clock, what a life !. But I enjoy it.

I didn't enter this profession thinking it was going to be easy. I'm grabbing whatever work comes along at the moment in order to ensure income, practice, and to enable me to get my face known.

Romstar - like the idea of the laptop, but I'd probably spend the whole day in a layby surfing and eating greasy butties and drinking cold coffee !.

Hey, it doesn't matter where I am, or what I am doing.

When that phone rings, I am gone.

I've left dinner, I've gotten out of bed. Once had a friend drive me from the pub to the job because I was out with friends when a call came in.
Breath mints are your friends. :D

I've been under my car doing an oil change, on a roof helping a friend shingle his house, and a few other things that I won't mention.

So, even if I am sitting in a layby, drinking coffee, and talking to a friend. When that phone rings, I am off to the job.

It is difficult sometimes, but in the end it will be worth it all over again.

I personally find that sometimes a stiff drink helps my picking, when I'm having a bad day. That and taking a short nap.

Pinky - Looking at SatNav at the moment, as I've had a few close calls trying to look at both the map and road.

Romstar - The phone is my best friend, and it goes everywhere with me. Like you, work always takes priority - the wife doesn't always like it when I up and leave, but she understands (I think :? ).
