I'm assuming it's just a standard yale type keyway like the 1A (or Y1 to the americans)... best advice I can give you is to pay attention to the pins instead of the keyway. Just get onto the binding pin and push it down, you can follow the shape of the keyway if any of the pins are deep setting but for shallow/medium pins you just need to push at them from an angle.
I remember worrying about those keyways at first, from my own experience I'd say that if you're worrying about the keyway above everything else then the keyway isn't the problem. You need to focus on the feedback from the lock more than anything
