making how-to videos, any requests?

Postby locklocklock » 20 Oct 2010 6:01

I've been wanting to make some tut videos now that I have a video camera for lockpick n00bs but not really sure what they should be about.

There are already plenty of videos out there so I thought i could contribute a bit since i've been at it for a while.

Any requests for tutorial videos? and/or new people who want to see something done firsthand in a vid?

I wonder if a list of all the types of locks out there would be useful. I've heard a few people talk about it but I wonder how useful it would actually be. or, maybe just general techniques for opening certain locks.

One video that I've been thinking about doing but am lazy about:

The last 1/2 - 2 seconds of a bunch lock openings (pulled from youtube, etc..). Set the whole thing to a killer soundtrack. Sync the openings to the beat, gradually make the clips show harder and harder locks. Would be a slick motivational video if done well. Yeah, this is nothing like what you are asking about, but make it..it will be made of win! OPEN!

How about a video on spiking S&G's 6120? It took me a while to get down the technique. It may be useful to some of the tech's on the site.

perhaps a video strictly for picking a false set would be good for people getting used to security pins.

- how to select binding order
- how to feel set pins
- how to identify security pins
- how to re-set a false set

This is what I've been curious about considering I'm insanely new to lock picking. (Feeling set pins and identifying security pens being the two biggies)

Assuming you could get hold of a very good quality camera, you could show the affect that security pins have when used in top and bottom pin positions. By using a cut-away lock you could demonstrate clearly how they affect picking which would be a great help. I had hopes to produce such a video/photo series in such a way but other commitments came up at the time.

How to make a cutaway on differnt kinds of locks, pad locks, door locks, etch. What tools to use to include dremel speeds. I've made a few with files to little to no success and they charge upwards of 50 bucks for a cutaway lock online. I've been teaching a lot of people for the military on the side and would love to be able to make them quickly and effectively.
