Snib Lock?

I have a customer who is wanting to get another snib lock, i personally have not heard of these and am trying to figure out the proper operation of this lock, i cannot seem to get it to function properly?
Any help appreciated.... It seems like a neat product.

Over here that's what we call the deadlocking button on traditional style night latches, like the yale Y77, so when he's talking about a snib lock maybe that's what he means.

I take it you have the old one in front of you, when you say you can't get it to function what's actually happening? Is the bolt stuck on the inside?

I never knew that was called a snib.. I guess every part has a name..
