These are what i have spent my last few hours on, im pretty pleased with them as i am just a beginner at this, and i have managed to open my own padlocks, so i am just glad that these people here are so informative:
What do you think?

The top picks look pretty good. Id sand em down and get em shinnier and smoother, they slide better in the lock. The bottom ones have the blue crap from grinding too long without quinching, but this looks like a good start. Are the bottom ones modeled after car jigglers?

The small set in the last picture above the jigglers looks almost exactly like my emergency lockout kit I carry in the coin purse of my wallet. Looks like you have a nicer selection of rakes in it though. Did you make those out of street sweeper bristle?

hey,
Thanks for the compliment, I made them out of bristles that you would get of a rake, they are bigger than the bristles that i got form quiklocks, have you had any success witht the lockout kit you have?

Good job on your first set of picks! Give them a good polishing like silent suggested and you're good to go. When you can, you might want to start making a second set, sort of like a spare set to use in case one of your pick breaks you'll have have a nice template set to work from. I do.

I made some, I get quite a few requests for the template. Did you request the template? I cannot remember. So many has asked for it. It's still available, let me know if you want it.
I'll see if I still have the picture of the auto jigglers I made and post it.

The lockout kit is very nice, because of the small size they are very convenient to carry on a daily basis and the lack of real handles really doesn't cause me that many problems other than preventing me from bending picks.

That's it.
I'll have to retake the picture of the set I made from the template and post it for all to see. It's a fun project.

for a first try, nice job! but you might want to remember to cool your picks in water about every few seconds when your grinding them. Also, (personal thought) I would take the tape off to give yourself a beter feel of the pins. Finally, as was said before, you may want to clean them up with some sand paper. Keep up the hard work!
