2in1 pick lever lifters

Postby calvinism » 3 Jan 2011 5:34

Hi guys and gals. . If there are any gals here? I made a 2in1 pick this holiday bt i came across a few problems i need help with. . .ok firstly does silver solder hav a brass colour when grinded away? I ask this cause ive neva used silver solder before and i always thought its supose to hav a silver finish? Ok and then the other question. The lifters on the pick that apply tension to the bolt and lift the levers. Do you have2 make 10 difrent 2in1 picks to suit all the keyways? Cause the keyways are all diferent. Lenth and shape? And a strait lifter doesnt go through? Thanx 4 any help once again

Hi calvinism

Can't answer the solder question, but yes, you do need several 2in1 picks and (in the UK at least) in 5 and 7 gauge. Firstly you need to file the tangs to suit different keyway lengths and lever/bolt heights. If the keyway has warding you may be able to feed the pick through otherwise you may have to file a notch out of the tang (or file the warding off the keyway).

Cheers...
