Here is a animation I made with the software Phun.

This was the first animation I made, so it's a little ugly, but it shows to beginners how to pick a spool pin.

Animation doesn't have to be perfect, this is a very good demonstration and explains well. Nicely done

I agree. This is actually the first animation I've seen relating to this method. A lot of newbie pickers don't understand why pushing the pin up rotates the cylinder backwards so they don't try it incase they lose the other pins they have set.
