Here is my first attempt at making my own cutaway, its a 6 pin Schlage pulled from a b662 in the recycle bin at the shop I work at. In the next few days I will actually put the other core in a vice and try to make something a bit cleaner, but after a bit of cleaning up with a file, this one does actually work well and is easy to watch under decent lighting. http://www.postfader.com/cutaway.jpg-KR

Sorry to resuscitate an old thread, but I ordered the same set off of lockpicks.com and was sorely disappointed. As you all have already said, it is extremely easy to pick and is nothing like a Schlage, which is too bad - I have a Schlage I have never been able to open, and I would love to have had a see-through practice lock. Save your money. The only thing it's good for is showing somebody else how a lock works, and it is very good at that.

I agree as well. I picked up the youtube lockpick set a little while back and the schlage and kwikset cutaways feel exactly the same and are just as easy to pick.
