Anyone else get this magazine through their door every month.

'tis free Rick. In publishing speak it's a controlled circulation mag, sent free to qualifying readers. Makes money through advertising, by attracting advertisers who want to reach that circulation.

Are you going to the exhibition in March?

Cheers...

I did nottingham one last year and was a bit boring to be honest.
I might try the Telford MLA one later in the year

Rumour has it that the Telford show last time it was held, had less exhibitors than the Nottingham show.
It's all about the tension . . .

I was at the Notts show at the weekend and it was rammed. Some great stalls and cutaways to play with. Storm lockpicks are a new maker and looked like good picks. Virtually unbreakable. Good stuff, loved teh antique lock stall too.

Going to the Telford one later in the year too. It's a 3 day event this year so I think they're expecting it to be busy anyway! I think one of the problems with it in the past was only MLA member s were allowed to attend thus limiting numbers to just a handful.

I went to Nottingham as well, good show , took 20 mins to get through check in but worth it , well organised plenty of good 'toys 'to play with.
I am told the MLA show in Telford should be better than the last one, more interest from exhibitors and plenty of classes.
You dont have to be MLA to get in , but you do have to be a locksmith or in the security trade.

Yes there was a major crowd gathered more than an hour before opening time. I was helping on the registration desk and it was hard work :D

I know how frustrating it is when you have to queue, but the problem is, to avoid queues you either have to mail out badges in advance or you have to have many check-in computers and operators, and both options cost money.

The idea of the show is for it to be free for pre-registered visitors and low-cost for exhibitors. If you increase the costs, one or both of those things have to change. A fiver for faster entry through the door, or free to enter but a 20 minute queue?

Cheers...

One of the great british pastimes queuing. It gave us chance to chat with some of the other locksmiths, ,the time went quickly.
But was well organised, and i should think the team should be well pleased with how it went, and good luck with the next two years at the same venue.
