Yes Master #5 has four pins but NO security locks, A fairly simple lock to pick despite it's large size. An S-rake lifting up the pins or a half diamond works best for me (always under 30 sec)

Anyone have advice? I've been working on Master lock 140 for a few weeks and just can't get it. I have picked other security pin locks but can't seem to do this. Tried ultra light pressure, alternating pressure, single pin picking, raking, lifting all pins and then raking, vibration, different picks, alternating sequence of picked pins. I can always get it to false set, I try to decrease the torque, but I just lose the set of other pins regardless of how careful I am.

Some locks you are just harder then others. Maybe Take a break from it and come back in a few weeks.

Magnum 240 has two spool drivers. Position 2 and 3 from the front. Picked it after about of week of trying.

It is poor tolerance lock, so it is hard to feel the binding.
(At least in mine). But work with very light pressure and
lift the pins one by one, if you feel any pressure or obstruction, stop and move to the next pin, then come back, eventually you'll feel a click on one pin, then work your way to the others.

I would not recommend this lock for newbies...

I can confirm that there are none in mine.

Well I think we can now confirm that the 930's have changed over time.. I have an old one (from about 6-7 years ago), and I just disassembled it.. it had 5 spool pins in it.. 930/6230 is on the lock

Thanks for starting this list Shrub. I'm sure it'll help alot of people.

I recently purchased two padlocks from Lowes and HomeDepot. The
MasterLock Magnum5 (M5XKADLF) has 4 pins and costs about $12.
The other, a Magnum930 (M930XKADLH) has 5 pins and costs $25.

Both pick quite easily with SPP or raking and was sorely disappointed
to find both locks had nothing but standard pins w/ beveled edges.
Obviously the "security" that the M930 offers has to do with the body
and shakle strength and not the inards.

Magnum930 disassembled. Purchased: 3 months ago. Not worth the $ in my opinion.

It looks like this question has been answered for the 930/6230, but for clarity's sake and visual reference:

My pictures were the insides of this lock. To be exact, the package says M930XKADLH

Is this a different lock entirely from the lock you guys are discussing: 930/6230?

It could be the newer style. This is my lock:

I don't even know what KAD stands for:

And my generic Master 900 key:

I think the 930 and 930/6230 are two separate locks. One looks big and bad. The other looks big and bad and has 5 spool pins.

Thanks for clearing that up. Yea, think this is just a case of older vs. newer version.

Too bad it seems they have removed the security pins. I wonder if they've changed the price...

It should be noted that all pins have a beveled edge, which is called a chamfer.
Since plugs and cylinders are round, this ensures no hard edges get caught when turning the plug.

Just something I picked up. I hope it is of use to someone else.
