No it's not very flexible, but it also depends on the gap in the door. Some in-swing doors you can look down and see the strike going into the frame, and a Shove It would certainly be better than a credit card, a butter knife, or a screwdriver. But yeah, this works better for doors that open towards you, hands down.
Just a friendly note though, you seem to be posting a lot about things like Ace tubular lock picks and Shove-It tools, this is the stuff locksmiths and bad guys use, not hobby lock pickers. You won't learn much lock picking by using specialty picks meant for 1 certain style of lock, and from bypass tools that have very limited legitimate uses.
enjoy the hobby, but keep it legal and remember your ethics.
