Pin sizes for Faultless locks?

Postby ww85 » 24 Feb 2011 19:34

Hi all, I was hoping someone might be able to tell me the size range on Faultless bottom pins. I'm in the process of setting up some low-high combinations to determine if I need to make a longer hook for myself and I want to make sure I'm not half assing my challenge setup.

I'm on my second set of Faultless cylinder locks (gave my first set to my GF when I got her into lock sport for Christmas) and both sets only included three pin sizes: 1, 3, and 5 according to the key engravings.

I know that Kwikset which are pretty similar runs 1-6, though.

I searched the forums and the internet in general, and while I could find pin depths for Kwikset, Schlage, Weiser, and Corbin I couldn't find the Faultless measurements anywhere.

I'm guessing since it's such a junky lock there isn't a huge market for rekeying parts, but then, there's tons of Kwikset rekeying stuff out there so that logic kind of falls apart.

At any rate, anyone who's gone through enough of them able to tell me if they run beyond 1-5?

Well, at the very least I was able to pick a - - - 5 1 with my short hook. This means that any configuration I can make with the pins I have is pickable and any trouble I run into is on me, not my tools. :D
